Thank you for your interest in becoming a nationally certified Child Passenger Safety (CPS) technician. You are joining a group of dedicated people who all have one thing in common: they care deeply about kids and want to make sure they are safe on every ride. Here’s what you need to know to get started.
CPS in Trucks Session 3 CEU’s – 1 hour Registration. Participants will identify the types of trucks and be prepared for the CPS challenges that might be encountered, understand air bag warnings and considerations in the front seat of pickup trucks, and discuss special instructions in pickup truck manuals regarding rear-seat spacing.

A staff member from my agency will be teaching the car seat technician class I wish to sign up for and he/she will NOT be paid by WisDOT for their teaching time Note: A lead instructor must request approval with the Car Seat Program Coordinator if the student is not from the lead instructor’s agency. You must book an appointment with a car seat technician in your area or at any of our claims and salvage centres. If there isn’t a technician in your community, you can find a scheduled car seat clinic near you.

Parents and caregivers can receive free hands-on help from a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician to learn how to install their safety seat, by visiting a Safety Seat Check Station or a Safety Seat Check Event. The car seat installation experience is an interactive one and takes 20-30 minutes, depending on the car seat and the vehicle.
