The 2012 Bentley Continental GT3 Concept was a concept car released by Bentley Motors in 2012. It was based on the Continental GT and was intended to be used as a race car. The exterior of the car had a more aggressive look than the standard Continental GT, with a more steeply raked grille, a lower ride height, and larger air intakes. The interior had been stripped out, with the exception of an FIA-approved roll cage, fire extinguisher, and racing bucket seat with a six-point harness.
The car was powered by a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produced 592 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. The power was sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential transmission. The car was equipped with a limited-slip differential and adjustable suspension, as well as a range of aerodynamic aids to help with downforce.
The car had a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds, and a top speed of 200 mph. It was also equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes, which provided excellent stopping power. The car weighed in at just over 1,500 kg, which made it a very light and agile race car.
The car was designed to be competitive in various racing series, such as the FIA GT3 series, and was also eligible for use in other series, such as the World Endurance Championship. The car was also eligible for use in club racing series, such as the British GT Championship.
The car was not put into production due to the high cost of production, but it did serve as an excellent concept car for Bentley and gave us a glimpse into the potential of a race-ready Continental GT.
The car made its debut at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it was driven by Bentley factory driver Guy Smith. It was also driven in a demonstration at the 2012 24 Hours of Nürburgring, where it set a lap time of 8 minutes and 22.9 seconds.
The car was also featured in the video game Forza Horizon 2 and is available for purchase in the game. It also made an appearance in the film Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.
