The BMW M1 Homage Concept was unveiled in 2008 at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, an annual event hosted by BMW. The concept was a modern take on the classic BMW M1, an iconic sports car produced by the German automaker between 1978 and 1981.

The BMW M1 Homage Concept was designed to pay tribute to the original M1 and its innovative design. The concept car featured a modern interpretation of the original’s body shape and styling, including a long hood, low roofline, and signature kidney grille. The concept was outfitted with a racing-inspired interior, complete with a roll cage and racing seats.

Under the hood, the BMW M1 Homage Concept featured a 3.2-liter, six-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. The engine was capable of producing more than 350 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful cars BMW had ever produced.

In addition to its powerful engine, the BMW M1 Homage Concept also featured a number of modern technological features, including an advanced suspension system, active aerodynamics, and an electronic stability control system. The concept also had a carbon fiber body, which was both lightweight and strong.

The BMW M1 Homage Concept was a one-off concept car and was not put into production. However, it served as an inspiration for the BMW i8, a hybrid sports car that was released in 2014. The i8 featured many of the same design elements as the M1 Homage Concept, including the long hood and low roofline.
