1999 Peugeot 206 WRC

The Peugeot 206 WRC is a rally car built by Peugeot Sport for the World Rally Championship. It was introduced in 1999, replacing the Peugeot 205 T16, and competed until the end of the 2002 season. The car was designed by Peugeot Sport, based on the Peugeot 206 road car, and was powered by a 3.0 litre, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine, producing around 300 bhp. The car featured all-wheel drive, with the front and rear axles connected by a transfer gearbox. The car proved to be very successful, winning 12 of the 15 rounds it competed in 1999, including the championship for both Colin McRae and Peugeot.

1999 Peugeot 206 WRC

The 206 WRC was further developed for the 2000 season, with the introduction of a new engine, the 3.2 litre, 16-valve unit, producing around 350 bhp. The car also featured improved suspension and aerodynamics. The car was successful again in 2000, winning 10 of the 15 rounds, including the championship for McRae and Peugeot. The car was also used by privateer teams, with Jani Paasonen winning the Production Car World Rally Championship in 2000.

The car was further developed for the 2001 season, with the introduction of a new engine, the 3.2 litre, 16-valve unit, producing around 400 bhp. The car also featured improved suspension and aerodynamics. The car was successful again in 2001, winning 11 of the 15 rounds, including the championship for Marcus Gronholm and Peugeot.

1999 Peugeot 206 WRC

For the 2002 season, the 206 WRC was replaced by the Peugeot 307 WRC. The 206 WRC was the last of the classic Peugeot rally cars, and is now a sought after classic.
