Development

The development of the Lamborghini Countach began in 1973 and was the result of a collaboration between engineers Gian Paolo Dallara, Paolo Stanzani, and Bob Wallace. The car was designed to be a high-performance, two-seat grand touring coupe with a mid-engined V12 engine. The original design, dubbed the LP400, was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1974 and was praised for its bold and futuristic styling.

In 1981, Lamborghini introduced the LP400 S, an updated version of the original LP400. The LP400 S featured several improvements over its predecessor, including a revised suspension, wider wheels, and larger brakes. The engine was also upgraded from a 4.0L V12 to a 4.7L V12, resulting in an increase in power from 375hp to 425hp.

LP500 S

In 1985, Lamborghini introduced the LP500 S, the most powerful version of the Countach yet. The LP500 S featured an upgraded 5.2L V12 engine that produced 455hp, as well as a revised suspension system and wider wheels. The LP500 S was also the first Countach to feature an optional rear spoiler, which improved aerodynamics and increased downforce.

LP5000 QV

The final iteration of the Countach was the LP5000 QV, which was introduced in 1988. The LP5000 QV featured a revised 5.2L V12 engine that produced an impressive 455hp and was capable of propelling the car from 0-60 mph in just 4.8 seconds. The LP5000 QV was also the first Countach to be equipped with anti-lock brakes and a revised suspension system.
